about

I first heard Electric Bird Noise when Unleashing the Inner Robot came out back in 1999. I got it as a promo for QRD as there weren’t too many folks dealing with weird out music in the Carolinas at the time. A year later I shared a bill with Electric Bird Noise & Attrition & EBN has been a part of the Silber family from there on out even with releases coming from other labels. So we’re pleased to re-present to you the debut Electric Bird Noise years after it has become out of print & impossible to find.
On Unleashing the Inner Robot, Electric Bird Noise blends 1970s prog rock with 1980s synthpop through a 1990s darkwave lens. The tracks vary from industrial dance noise with Fripp-esque guitars on top to ethereal ambience to shoegaze. For fans of King Crimson, Brian Eno, Kraftwerk, & Lycia. We wish we’d released this fifteen years ago & are happy to give it a permanent home!
